For this piece Capcom wanted something that divided the image into two which essentially showcased two classic games in Final Fight and Magic Sword. This was a bit of a challenge as I didn’t want the division to take away from the overall composition so eventually I settled with a suggestive, “ying yang” composition, using the main character’s heads of both games as the dots of the formation. As you can see it’s not a perfect circle here but in the end all I wanted was the energy and flow to translate but not necessarily to dominate the entire image. So at every opportunity I tried to warp the lineart to mimic that flow to a certain extent. I hope it came out alright!

Alright Alvin, now you get to do Capcom box art, BRILLIANT. i think i may just brush off the old crayons and give this one a whirl. I don’t stand a chance if it’s anything like your last coloring contest though.
