Sneak peak at the “new” style I’ve been working on. This is currently being colored by my good friend and ultra talented painter, Doe.

Tried to keep my faces looking like my usual style with a bit of a twist. Hair and facial features were more rendered, blacks were done with heavy hatching, pencils were completely eliminated by going straight to ink with *gasp* a ball point pen! Hopefully the end result is something a little more raw, with a little more energy and realism.

There are without a doubt some heavy influences in this style by some of my favorite Japanese Manga artists, including Hiroaki Samura, Inoue Takehiko & Diago Ikeno. It’s yet another attempt at the quest for the perfect blend of East meets West; American realism with Manga flare.
