Many questions about DS, not many answers for them at the moment! But Tribbey, You will need a scanner and Adobe Photoshop, possibly a printer but it’s not entirely necessary. Comic book boards, non-photo blue pencils and a 2H pencil…all of the tools needed will be covered in the course.

This is like the coolest, most genious idea ever, learning from the pro’s, that is. I’m strongly considering doing this the next time you have classes, but before I do, I had a couple questions. Is everying going to be done by video over the net or will it be presented in dvd format? Will I need a lightbox? What supplies do I need? Would you suggest any brands? Are you going to teach anything about inking? Do you have any suggestions on inking supplies and brands?

Alvin I watched the first lesson and am starting the assignments. All I can say is WOW! This is exactly what I needed and wanted. Someone to teach me the mechanics of how to draw comic book characters. I could always replicate a comic book scene using the original piece as a reference. In the first lesson you covered the mechanics the exact parts that I was missing. I have read all the directions from a number of books but in never quite clicked or came together the way you described it…
Thanks

It’s none of the above! These are all unique characters created strictly for educational purposes. However, the similarities to the x-men is not coincidental, i wanted a prototypical “team” concept for the students to sample from.

Hey Rob! Make sure to have all of your necessary tools, for example a couple of blue pencils, comic book boards and a nice drafting pencil with sharpener (along with some 2H lead). It’s not an absolute requirement, just a recommendation.
